I have a 04 E320, that has not be driven for several months and the battery has died. Please can any one tell me where the battery is so that I can try and recharge it!
Thank you for your help.

Here's some pictures -- main battery is in the trunk, and the aux battery (to power the SBC) is in the engine compartment.

From everything I have read, DO NOT MESS WITH THE BATTERY UNDER THE HOOD! You can cause all sorts of problems. The one in the trunk is not that hard to get to. I also carry a small jump box in the trunk, just in case.
Call MB roadside assistance 1-800-367-6372, MB will send a service truck out to your house to check the battery, if it need to be replace ,it will be $125 to $150 (depend on dealer location). Good luck.

Nice pics from paul explaining the issue. I just wanted to add that the battery is differently placed if the car does not come with a spare tire. Not that you wouldn't find it in that case with these instructions, just that I find it interesting that MB optimises the battery placement for this case instead of using the same layout but just leaving the spare tire out.
Just to add, these are AGM battery's so they require a special charger (read specific charging rate) otherwise you will damage the cells. The issue is that they are completely sealed, charging at too high of a rate could cause damage to the cells or worse an explosion.
I forget the specifics but here is an example:
Using 10% of the Ah rating. If a 95 Ah rated battery is installed, 10 amps is the maximum charging rate.
For these battery's forget CCA, its meaningless!
Best bet it to call Roadside assistance and let them charge you up.

Totally agree with DB, and a while ago I was chasing down some info on chargers that would satisfy my current and future needs. It looked like the Battery Tender Jr (12v) would do fine.

How many months exactly haven't you driven the car?
