MB MHI Cradle for V3 RAZR
For most model year 2005 - 2007 vehicles equipped with
the MHI (Multi-Handset Interface) hands-free system
This easy to use device docks in the armrest and enables your Mercedes-BenzMHI hands-free system with state-of-the-art Bluetooth technology. Additionally, it provides you with the option to dock your V3 RAZR into the cradle for added functionality. It only pairs and connects with Motorola V3 RAZR phones with Mercedes-Benz appreoved software versions.
Once connected via Bluetooth, your V3 RAZR phonebook is automatically downloaded. Calls are clearly delivered through your audio system and the audio system automatically mutes the radio or pauses the CD during calls. You can control calls via your multifunction steering wheel controls or via the head unit.
Additional benefits are available only when docked: the phone's battery charges automatically and call quality may be improved with the use of the vehicle's integrated external antenna.
NOTE:
I have been told there is no difference between a stock V3 and the one AWS sells if you are using a MB "approved" carrier.

If it says Pratt and Whitney on the outside it better say Martin Baker on the inside.
Hi Ruffrob, the MHI cradle won't work on your car. Your '03 has a Communication Platform (C.P.) based system, not MHI. There's no inter-changability between the two systems. If your car has the factory, or dealer-installed, cradled V60 option, you can buy the Bluetooth adaptor, or "puck" as it's commonly referred to. The puck simply snaps into the existing cradle in place of the phone. You can then pair your RAZR to the puck, and you'll be in business. If your car doesn't have an MB phone already installed, you'll need to buy the kit and install it. The installation is no big deal, but there's some version coding required, so you'll have to take a trip to the dealer. Good luck
sorry to bring back an old thread, but a search here and in the "Audio & Telematics" forum didnt yeild me any results...
i am in the same boat (2003 e500 usa spec) and im going to have to go with the v60 cradle and bluetooth puck method.
the pucks are readily available on the internet, but my car does not have the cradle, and my audio50 (soon to be a euro command) says "telephone not installed." i am hoping/assuming my car is prewired for the v60 telephone kit.
I was wondering what i need to make the v60 cradle work.... can i just find a cradle off ebay (eBay Motors: Mercedes Motorola V60 Phone Cradle (item 180127145544 end time Jun-08-07 20:26:35 PDT)) and plug it it? or are there any hidden modules that need to be installed anywhere in the car? i've heard talk of "voice modules" (part number 211 820 30 85) and "linear compensators" (part number 8YN9528A) being needed... is that ture, or are those above parts just needed to integrate the vehicle antenna / receiver into the system? Remember all i need to do is integrate the cradle with command, and not teleaid. Im assuming i do need some sort of activation over STARdiagnostic as well.

I have an 08 350 Sport ordered that should be built next week. It’s coming equipped
so that my Verizon Razr will work with it .. where I can hear the phone over the
radio speakers.
Being fairly hard of hearing, this is going to be great!
Now that got me wondering. Please excuse this “off-topic” question but does anyone
know if my 06 C6 vette could be made to do this with my Razr? I know almost
nothing about electronics.
It's a question that I've been wondering about, and want to resolve. Thanks for all
responses .large and small.
I hate to break it to you, but chances are your car is not prewired for any of the Bluetooth devices. Since the audio system is a part of the car's fiber optic network, the ability of ordering the retro kit is a major task (let alone the $3K price tag).
To confirm, simply open the center storage compartment and check to see if there is a black cap on the compartment's rear wall. If there is, it might work. Off the top of my head, I don't believe the pre wiring Bluetooth connector was available in 2003 models.
