Clock Setting

Hi Folks - I am waiting for a SLK 55 on hold at VPC in Baltimore. The dealer was nice enough to loan me a E350. How do I set the clock? Never owning a Merc before, I have no idea. There's no manual in the car and I called the dealer for instructions and was told to bring it in, it's too complicated. Not wanting to make the trip, I thought I'd ask here.

i dont have one for E350 but hoping that the above 2002

RE: Clock Setting

Thanks Raymond for the post but it didn't work. The clock is not the same. It's a standard clock with hands. I would think the little knob next to it would do it, but it doesn't seem to turn.

RE: Clock Setting

Hmm, got me. How about pulling or pushing the knob
while turning?

RE: Clock Setting

On my 03 W211, it is not that different from the W210 procedure that was mentioned above.

The clock is set using the buttons on the steering wheel. Use the 2 buttons that looks like 2 sheets of paper to scroll to "settings", then press either the up or down arrow. Scroll to "time/date" with the + and - button. Select time/date with the up or down arrow. Change time and date with the + and - button. Then you must press the black stalk sticking out of the instrument cluster (reset button) to confirm the change.
If your loaner has an owner's manual, I recommend you read it to give you a heads up on your new car.

RE: Clock Setting

It should work pushing the knob while turning. If this help let me tell you that there´s some "play" on the knob when you push and turn it before the needles move. If not then it is not working properly.
It´s posible that the gears are disaligned.

RE: Clock Setting

I think I told you wrong. I thougt you were talking of a W124 not a W211.
Sorry

RE: Clock Setting

If the car has nav you set the nav time the difference from GMT and the clock should synch with that. That is if the set up on the MFD has ben done correctly.

RE: Clock Setting

Thanks William - That did it. No manual in the car.
