Official Trunk Weight Loss #s .....

hey guys,

So i finally took the stuff out of my trunk and I wanted to get their exact measurements so i used a super accurate digital scale that measures down to the thousandth of a pound to see exactly how much everything weight... heres the break down...

- spare wheel & tire = 41.80 lbs
- Jack = 3.450 lbs
- Tools = 3.600 lbs
- Storage bin = 1.260 lbs
-----------------------------------------------
Total weight = 50.110 lbs

It was actually slightly less than I expected but considering its free weight loss, why not. I also have AAA Plus service so if i get a flat its never an issue i just get flatbed to tow me wherever i want for free. Another good weight loss solution is getting a high performance light weight dry cell battery, that could seriously drop the weight (as well as an aftermarket exhaust system). anyways, I hope this helps guys, enjoy

I think with resonator delete and a performance exhaust along lightweight battery u could easily get 50-80 more pounds removed out of the car (total of 100-130 lbs) , only downside is it is all removed over the rear axle is weight distribution will be affected slightly. just fyi

Yeah I was about to bring that up. Getting rid of weight is okay, just make sure the weight distribution remains even for the front and rear.

Today I was glad I had my spare tire, I had a rear blow out at 120mph. I didn't have time for AAA to tow my car. I had an appointment that took me over 2 years to get. I wasn't going to miss it. E55's have enough TQ that you won't even notice the added weight.

Hey Mario, 120 MPH, what freeway? you didn't have any problem with controlling the car when the tire blew out at that speed?

well im never going to go 120 in the car, thats just way too fast honestly on any public roads, nor am I going to track it, but yes sometimes a spare is nice to have, i just always flat bed mine anyways even when i have a flat, much easier honestly.
