New on this Board, but old on SLK Board... Need input on '01 E55... - Benzworld.org

I have had: '87 190 E 2.6, '95 E 320, and a '01 SLK 320 6MT. These are all, technically, my wife of 22 years vehicles. I am VERY close to trading my '02 Jeep GC Ltd. in on a StarMark(ed) '01 silver E55 w/21,000 miles. I am going to test drive it today, what should I look (out) for? TIA

I have a 01 E55 with 14,000 miles on it. No problems at all except for a failed air meter when the car was brand new. The performance was a bit off and the new part fixed it. The check engine light came on and the car wouldn't idle. I don't know of anyone having any serious issues with the older series E55s. I would try to get a Starmark car.

Mine is fine except for the rear window that went bad; no nav in it. 19005 miles on it, new one (2004) due in 12 days.

for your feed back. I picked up this Starmarked `01 on Sept. 19.

I have since taken a 3600 mile trip to Seattle. This car is awesome. I had a Z06 for 2.5 years before the E55, you can sure blend in easier in a 4-door when you want to travel at hyper-legal velocities on the Interstate![:D][:D]
