I am currently very interested in buying a E55 AMG. I Found a 2000 with Navigation with 74,000 miles for 14k. Is that a good deal and what kind of maintenance/ problems could I be looking at? I also found a 99 with 98k miles for 10,900 and a 01 with navigation and 114,500 miles for 10k. What is my best option?

I would be drawn to the 2000 74K mi $14K. The 2000+ W210 E55's have major cosmetic updates. Nonetheless, a PPI would be in order prior to purchase. The key to your selection would be maintenance history. FYI, do not base your selection on the Navi option. The system is antiquated, and for lack of words: sucks. Good luck.
The best measure of "value" is to go to edmunds.com and run the particulars for that car, which is also adjusted for area/region.
The gauge you are looking for is the benchmarks they show for that car for private party and retail - I have not yet gone wrong using edmunds values as a good gauge for private party cash equivalent purchases.
whichever drives the best has the best records and has the fewest blemishes. Make sure you have them check the body for resprays and prior damage. Check that the gloss of the paint matches from one panel, don't think newer means better and if you want the more expensive one don't hesitate to haggle, the market sucks for these and people cant wait to get rid of them.
