after about three months of trying to sell, it finally sold tonight. got a lil bit under what i wanted, no big deal... but more impt, its gone. its tough as shit to sell an AMG in MN, much less one that has 93K miles. I had an SRS light on the dash and the buyer was weary of it, so i spent the 3 hrs and 120 replacing it. otherwise, the car was mint and everything checked out!
So, know the search is on for a replacement. Looking for the diesel truck. prolly a duramax. no rush tho, so i'll keep looking...
anyways, happy to say, its gone! in the mean time, i have the new E63 to enjoy!!!

thanks! we ended up buying an E63 about3 months ago so that is why we sold the E55.
the 63 is a blast to drive, but the 55 is more raw power. its wierd to describe, but the 55 is more of a drivers car. the 63 is way too refined at low speeds and daily driving. get on the gas and the 63 goes like a rocket.

I know what you mean AJ. I Forgot you bought one recently too. I love my E63
what did you sell it for? Mine is a 99 with 112k, lots of maintenance and im asking 10k, not a single bite. I was told my car would go for 6,000-7,000 at auction by car max. looking at recent auction pricing, your lucky if you got 10-12k.

i asked 15K, i ended up getting 13,780. gave him both sets of my wheels and newer tires. i had to swap the SRS seat sensor too. it took about 2 weeks of back and forth negotiating, but i got it done.
i also went to the dealer, they said they would give me 6 for the car. i laughed and left... unfortunately after more research, that is about the going rate for these cars now a days. yours is a 99 and they offered 6, mine is an 01 with 93K on it and offered 6, so i think you are better off then me! LOL...
in the long run, i loved this car, i enjoyed it thoroughly and it performed great for me! it was useful in every aspect of my life. i could carry my race tires to the track, go on long road trips, daily usage around town with good mileage...everything was awesome! if i could have kept it, i probably would. but no sense in it when i have an E63 sitting in the garage... LOL
Just to chime in on pricing as well......
I just bought my 02 w/ 120K miles but had pretty much all the maintenance already done. The exterior is in pretty nice shape and the interior is in really great shape. I ended up getting it for $11,400. So I would think you'd have a hard time getting $10K for your 99. Again though, all it takes is the right buyer.
