I recently purchased a ’02 E55. The car is great and I am very pleased with my purchase. I will do a full intro, with pictures once I am finished cleaning up odds and ends.
Over this past weekend, I lost a xenon headlight. I bought a bulb at the local MB dealer and had my indyshop put it in. This did not solve the problem. The tech told me that it may be a hid igniter, control unit or both. Tomorrow, I plan to test the working parts from my good headlight on my bad headlight. Is there anything I should know about these headlight configurations? It seems to be pretty straight forward plug and play.
Below is a picture of the bad headlight. It has melted.
Also, I am searching for an OEM and aftermarket parts supplier. Where do you guys buy parts from?

WOw! How that happen? never seen headlight lense melted before
You must have a bad short somewhere.
well, to swap the ignitor you have to remove the bumper and headlight to access the ignitor. You might want to check the fuse before going through all the trouble.
btw, I still have my factory ignitors and HID bulbs for sale. PM me if you interested.
