Two weeks ago i took the car to the dragstrip for the first time. I was curius to see what how the car performs safely on a quarter mile run. My first run was the best run i did at 13.7 sec . After that my tires started loosing traction resulting in slower times by 0.1 - 0.2 seconds on every other run i made. My last one was at 14.5 sec!!!! I have the feeling that with a perfect run the car can probably do a low 13 sec quarter mile. My friend with a modified Porsche 997 turbo did 11.1 sec and my cousin with a new Mitsubishi Evo X did a 14.2 sec. Below i have pictures with the slips from my first race, one with the 997 and one with the Evo. Funny thing was the comments i was getting from the people on the track about my car like a guy asked my if it was an E430
yea, thats about right. i ran 13.8 when it was bone stock. haven't had it back since i swap the exhaust...
one thing on these cars, the air intake design is horrible. there is too much engine heat from the top of the motor, thus heating the intake air. we need to re-route the intake such that it gets cooler air from outside.
thats a pretty good reason why your runs, consecutively, got slower...hotter air...

Some people said that we can use the air intake from a 211 E55 for better results. I need to make some more research on that.

Hi there,
Thats exactly right,if you dismantle your air box assembly and remove the maf,de screen it and relocate the "IAT" sensor out of the maf and relocate it in the drivers side intake right at the front where air entry, there will give real world air temps entering the engine resulting in lower intake temps resulting in consistant performance, dueto igntion being constant, anothertrick is the 90deg pipe the maf fits into has fins as well as the air box, remove the fins and smooth it all out. These few little mods give outstanding performace of the line and midrange is incredibly stronger as well as part throttle.
