Well..I sold my 2004 Ford Lightning not too long ago and I am in the market for an 01-02 E55. I have a few questions that I want to confirm with you all...
Since the 01-02's are NA, do they require premium fuel or will they run fine on regular?
What MPG are you seeing in the city/highway?
How do they do in snow, any real trouble aside from being RWD?
Any common known problems with the 01-02 E55's?
I would appreciate any help. Thank you guys in advance! -Will

1) Premium only.
2) Varies; 16 city/ 25 hwy is common
3) I'm in CA
4) MAF sensor, CPS (crank position sensor), brake light switch, rear window motor, instrument cluster, and motor mounts to name a few. Issues are mostly electronic. The hand built AMG engines are bullet proof.
Needs decent snow tires, the big fat 275/35ZR's are terrible in snow (I got caught once in a freaky snowstorm with my summer tires on, I think it took me 2 days to drive 10km, traction was a bitch) But with snow tires and a sandbag or two in the back, no worries, except other drivers!

I bought mine last october (2007) and have put 15,000 miles on it since. Have not had any issues what-so-ever. Just normal wear items and frequent oil changes. That in itself can be expensive.
