Hey Guys, I was thinking of getting my rear gear oil change out. Who has done it and what type of oil did you use?

thanks!

Royal Purple 75w-90 Maxgear is by far the best oil money can buy. At first I thought it was marketing hype but when I put it in it really was great stuff. I even did various MPG tests to see if it really helped MPG and sure enough i got an extra 2-3mpg just from the RP max gear alone.

You put royal purple in the rear diff and you got 2-3mpg? So your getting 24-26mpg on the highway now? Wow, I gotta take some time and try this!

I happy with anything more than 14 mpg city in my car. I'm going to get some Barnie blood and do a trasnfusion on my rear.

Can I get this Purple stuff from Auto Parts store, AutoAzone, Pepboys??

I got mine from Pepboys as I have a friend working there. You can also find it online at one of their dealers: Royal Purple Dealer Locator!

I used Royal Purple! Bought it at O'reilly's Auto Parts and took it to a 30 minute lube place along with a PDF print out of the procedure for good measure, and they put it in for me in just a few minutes and charged me $25.00. Good stuff!

Stop pushing Royal Purple!

All you Royal Purple guys, stop making every oil related question into a Royal Purple thread. I use a high quality synthetic and am not going to change. Purple bottle and purple dye in the oil, what a crock. All high quality synthetics are good.

BTW, I did the rear diff and I used MB 001 989 17 03 10. Nothing's better!
