E55 guys,

I have a 2001 E430 Sport. I recently put a set of 18" Monos and tinted the windows. My car looks like a 55 unless you read the BIG E430 on the trunk. How ever, now i get challenged at least once a day by some Audi A6 or a BMW 540, Mustangs, Corvettes etc. They just roll up beside me on the highway and wait. Is this what you have to deal with all of the time? Plus, who has ever seen a Desert Silver E55?

They should know this!

they are doing it because they see your car, think "ha, a fake amg... i'll demonstrate the fact that his car is weak and give him a clue".

Honestly, i'd probably do the same thing.

that's not to say i don't think your wheels look good on the car or were a bad choice for your vehicle.

Very Strange. I've never seen any other higher end luxury sedans attempt to race me either in my parents M5, M3, CLK 550, or my E430.

they only want to race to show you that your a faker- not because it's a fast car.

I live in nor cal and i hardly ever get anyone to race being in an E55.

Ppl think that a 430 is a faker even though its not a slow car. Just wait until the day u get ricers to come up thinking they have a shot....not even worth the gas. LOL!!

Nice ride though...any other tuning u plan on doing?

yeah, i wish i could get some more people interested in racing.

no one up here seems to want a part of either of my cars (even when they'd likely win)

Remember the E430 has only 75 less HP and a .07 differance in o to 60 times. Its not a weak car. its just not as strong as the 55 out of the box.

and it's about as fast as either of my cars were stock too... i wasn't implying it was a particularly slow car.

E430 is not slow car but you cannot compare it to E55 AMG... I switched from E430 sport to E55 AMG and it's huge difference.... E430 is hort 75 less HP and 100 less lbs.-ft.
