need help with Buyin new wheels

Simple qustions guys just checking opinions not sure what style or type of rims i want to get but Just curious on your thoughts. I have a 0 E55 that is lowered. What do u guys suggest 18in or 19in wheels? Im kinda confused on what to do, stay stock size or do the 19's which would look cooler but run the risk of rubbing and a bit rougher ride?

The rims you have now arent stock

Are you under the impression that your wheels now are stock? because they are not.

Those are nice wheels on there now, why do you want to change them?

If you are lowered stay with 18s, or get ready to rub and have a terrible, noisy ride. (Compared to stock.)

Or get 19s and and rub ocasionally and possible suffer a broken rim.

no i know my wheels are not stock. I want to get some new wheels that i ahve been lookin at that have a 4.25 in lip which is staggered wanted a more original look i know a few peeps with some 19's on there cars that are lowered and havent heard them complain to much about rubbing but thats why im askin you guys what you think. Cause the only thing i have a problem with my 18's is they tend to rub alittle when im making left & right turns.

It's possible the et on your current rims right now is not correct or not sufficient that's probably why you are rubbing.

Go with 19"s and make sure you have a correct or proper ET.

Our cars are tricky. Especially our front set up. OEM is 31MM ET front; 35MM ET rear. Most compatible aftermarket rims are 35MM rear; a no brainer. FYI, compatible rear tire section widths range from 275MM (OEM) to 295MM; though I personally feel 285MM is beginning to push the envelope. Unfortunately, most aftermarket rims are also 35MM ET up front. This is where the issues begin. I currently have an aftermarket 35MM ET up front with a 245MM tire. And, it barely fits. I believe choice of tire (or design) played a huge role here. I mounted Falken FK452. There are some members on this forum with aftermarket 35MM ET front rims with OEM Michelin PS2 tires with rubbing issues. Namely, a front suspension bolt placed about 1/2" away from the front of the front wheel. With that said, I would venture to recommend a front rim offset range of 26MM to 32MM with a 245MM tire with round edge tire design. Probably more than you asked for; but, like I stated earlier: Our cars are tricky.

not to much at all rubenz thanks for the advice i appreciate it the rims im lookin to get are a et 33 in the front and a et 40 in the rear i think the tires im gonna run are most likely gonna be toyo T1R MAYBE fronts are gonna be 235/35Z19 and rears 265/30Z19 or a 275/30Z19 and with my suspension set up that i have which is H&R springs with spring pad 1's all around with stock shocks im thinking of changing my spring pads back to the stock ones just to have a bit more clearance. What do you guys think of that idea.
