building a custom exhaust system, does anyone know where to get tips from either the w211 E55, new clk 55 or sl55, I looked on ebay and can't find any with the "AMG" stamp, any help would be much appreciated.

FYI, the W211 AMG exhaust tip is much larger than our W210 and I don't think it's going to fit in the bumper slot.
there is no real concern regarding the cutout, I have a '99 so there is no cutout in the rear valence, the exhaust tips just sit snugly under the bumper.

If there are no cut outs in the rear valence then it should be fine
It's still might look too big, that was my consern, but conact Steve at MBenzNL, they had just a tips from W211... do all your reaserch... maybe better to buy whole new Remus / eismann exhaust... these tips coast arrouns 300$ for a pair(one side)... and what is the point of building custom exhaust ? AMG is free flow exhaust I doubt you will see any gains... if you would like to have more agresive sound, remove resonatr if that is not enough remove secondery cats... good luck
Thanks for the help guys, I decided to go with a custom magnaflow setup with magnaflow tips (i didn't want to cut up the factory exhaust system as i will likely put it back on when I sell the car). I will post pictures when i"m done.
