Arrow Test Drive

Hey guys... I'm new here and waiting to buy my E55 AMG. I test drove one yesterday and was very pleased with everything. Is there anything I should look for while test driving the car? Maybe known problems? The car I test drove seemed it had a transmission problem with something. During shifting up and down, you could feel the shift, I thought your not supposed to feel that bump in a Benz. Well I'm happy I can be apart of a MBZ community that offers much information. Thank You.

If I shift manually, I also feel the "bump." If I shift automatically, it shifts smoothly. The tranny is adaptive (computer learned). If you learn the adaptive shifts (watch the rpm read), and manually shift at those points (extremely difficult) you probably will not feel the "bump." IMHO, leave the manual shifting for the drag race/autoX circuit. Good luck, and welcome.

LoL, thanks... but I was talking about shifting from P-R-N-D... you could feel the shifting being done... I was thinking it would be a loose gasket of some sort.

Ok, so I over thought it...lol. Never mind! The subtle "bumps" are normal.

Oh ok perfect, because the changing from P-R-N-D it was bumpy and I thought a Benz shouldn't do that... at least I know it's normal now! I'll be buying one soon! Can't Wait
