Sigh... '00 Mass Airflow Sensor Test

Hey Guys,
Again, I presume the well engineered MAS tanked in my beast. How can I test for this myself? I saw some pinouts and tests for a small C class but don't know if they apply!

Also, whats the best place to get this at?

Thanks!

Can't answer those questions, but you might want to consider cleaning the sensor before replacing.
You can search this forum for info. It seems relatively easy and certainly cheaper than replacing.

Ritmo, I don't know of any test for it, if the codes are in the system, you replace it. Or you can try cleaning it first as noted, there is a pictorial DIY on removing the insert to clean it in the main 210 forum under the DIY sticky thread.

Take care and enjoy the ride,
Greg

You can purchase from Auto Parts at AutohausAZ - OEM Auto Parts - Discount Replacement Parts, Resources and Car Care Tips (about $ 214) or you might be able to find cheaper on ebay - IMO your better off buying a certified new oem, you always get what you pay for.

Definitely try cleaning first with CRC MAS cleaner - they often get fouled by silicon used to seal electronics on the unit itself.

good luck

Scan the beast: eBay Motors: MERCEDES BENZ S CLASS OBD-II CODE SCANNER DIAGNOSTICS (item 280136157492 end time Jul-27-07 20:07:52 PDT)
If you get codes 0170; 0173, you need a new MAF sensor. Good luck.

Hi,
Actually now I am getting P0130 errors... In your expereince is safe enough to just replace that O2 sensor or should I also look elsewhere for causes?

Thanks!

0130; 0133 errors indicate O2 sensor is kaput or soon to be kaput. Replace the sensor.

As defined in my manual:

0130 - G3/4 (O2-CAT front right)
or
0130 - Right O2 sensor before CAT (G3/4)
