Funny how it goes. Posted yesterday about never having seen another E55 W210 AMG Estate on the road & then today see a black one, with tinted windows, wearing I think German plates, beginning with "BOT ....... " Anybody on this board? I was driving through Haywards Heath in Sussex.

Not me , mate. I was whizzing up and down the swiss motorways today but nowhere near the Sussex downs :-)... went into the Merc garage on the way home in Fribourg. They had a McLaren Slr NEW in there - a snip at 650000 CHF. Hmmm... next year ;-)
HaHa..... I did wonder if it was you David! Though this E55 looked even meaner than your car; it had such dark, jet black, tinted windows, even the front windscreen was possibly tinted, so that I couldn't even see the driver to acknowledge him as we passed one another. If Count Dracula owns a car, then this is it, with Transylvanian plates and his coffin in the back or perhaps the driver was headless

There are some right old types with these waggons, best you did not acknowledge the chap. There's a fine line between impressive and downright tacky don't you think ;-)
Yes, I know what you mean. Sometimes the degree of tinting look can be a bit OTT. Quite like the OEM blue classy tint, at least for the moment, perhaps when we get some strong sunshine back in dear old blighty I might feel different.
Hehe. I was sorely tempted by a 2006 S430 before taking the plunge with my E55. It was 79k chf (about 33k stg) with only 3k km on the clock, but it had allround black windows. I almost took the plunge!
