Yes. this is pretty much the biggest you can get. Its a custom 3.5" inlet w/ a 4" opening at the front. its all the air flow you'd ever need. the brackets will all be nice high quality aluminum as seen in the pics and it will look good. Don't worry about water, won't be an issue. Its not going down far that low, thats why i'm doing the intake this way; plus, a 3.5" pipe would never fit in the opening b/c its just way too small. I will have more updates soon.

I don't know. That is one tiny filter. With the amount of vacuum the 5.5 n/a makes.....it would get dirty mighty quick. I used the biggest K&N cone you can buy. see pic

The 90 degree elbow on my intake allows better hood clearance. I have tried your way.....it would shake loose after a few runs. Good luck. see pic

Hey, naw the filter is pretty large it just doesn't look like it. its more than enough for the 5.5L AMG. I ran one on my M3 for 9 months and was still clean.

Ya i know about the elbow, got one ordered.

All the extra airflow you get with that huge filter is offset by the fact that its very hot less dense air being sucked in so its not worth it to run an open filter, it defeats the whole purpose of a performance intake. Mine will be out soon. can't wait to get this badboy done .

I have two different cold air feeds to my filter.....with direct engine heat blocked. You take my set up ( ) and you design a carbon fiber cone shield with fresh air ducts and you'll have AMG knocking on our doors to become their next engineers.

umm.....maybe not, but it would be a great intake.

i've created a monster .

The pulley is done and ready to test but b/c I am selling the car so soon I may wait until i get the CLK55, so it may be a month before I get a dyno or something. I'll have to figure out the situation. I will do my best to get all this stuff out quick .
