Many thanks and because of the info from all of you, i just had my Service writer VMI my car according to the report my Balancer is not in the campaign....??? whew, i guess... However it did capture/report, the door seal is. so I'm assuming the dealership ("stealership") didn't manipulate the VMI check.

Additionally, my service writer says the door seal campaign is just a reseal with glue and not replacing the actual seals seems odd

Any info any may have give me a heads up.

ps i'm glad i traded the 98 540ia, especially for the fourm help... much better and parts, basic service and insurance, all are lower

that is correct, they are not replacing your existing door seal (rubber) they are going to put glue underneath the door seal.
