If I keep my 55 then I would love to get headers. Are they going to be shorty's or long tube?
They will be direct bolt on shorties, but they will be the freest flowing shorties money can buy, They will be massive yet extremely compact so there are no fitment issues. and I wanted them to be direct bolt on so anyone could install them and you did not have to hack up your stock catalytic section to get good power. I'll let u know more when i have the info. Until then gonna try to get this pulley out ASAP.
sSems like alot of time and $$ to gain 25 HP or so via pulleys and headers...but thats just me. Wish that Vortech or somebody would have come up with a solid blower by now, but seeing as how the 500 and 55 motors are now "old" models -it is doubtful that anyone but KLEEMANN is or will be viable.
Love my 2000 Beast, only 40,000 miles on the clock, but for me, if I'm gonna spend the $$ I want bigtime results = blower, or BRABUS rebuild.
25 wheel HP is ALOT of power NA, I dunno where you are coming from haha. 50 wheel HP is an astronomical amount. If you add 50HP to our cars and do 150lbs of weight reduction that puts you in w211 E55 AMG territory NA. Remember the name of the game is power/weight, not just power.
The problem with blowers is they can put ALOT of stress on your engine and FI introduces alot more headaches to the car and some people want compromise free gains. Plus SC will reduce your gas mileage by a large amount, where as the crank pulley actually increases your gas mileage. It just depends on what the consumer wants. Some want more efficiency and improved economy in addition to power. Others just want rediculous power at no matter what cost.

2cents
my gas mileage is about the same, I really don't see a difference. There is more motor drag but I also have about 50% more air going into the motor even when I'm off boost. This is because it is a positive displacement blower.

is the eaton postive displacement? I thought it was centrifugal. If it is... roots or screw?

yes it is an Eaton MP90. Sounds mean!!! If you do a search on my screen name you will see a video I posted about 7 months ago. You will need quick time to view it.

Well, since getting my M3, most of my go fast $$ is turning towards that little bandit. Same dilemna - can get incremental gains by spending $3-$4K parts and labor for cold air intake, headers, pulleys, and a chip. OR can take care of the situation once an for all for around $8K for a Vortech supercharger. Talk about power/weight...guess which way I'm leaning ?
Too bad nobody was able to come up with a realistically priced blower for our
E55's - I would have done it. I'm hangin onto my E55 - love the way it drives - and at 40,000 miles, its just getting broken in. But when I want to rage, the M3 gets the call - that car is a real sports car.
If you could get 50 crank HP for under $2k would u do it? Cuz its about to happen I have a feeling us NA boys are going to start giving these FI guys a run for their money .

....but....these are the modifications that make for reliable, effecient, and exponential power. Especially when you "add" power rather than "free power".
I'm kind of a hypocrite because I supercharged my car before anything else. However, 90% of my soon to be mods are all based on freeing up power that my car already makes. Parasitic loss. For example. Eliminating the PVC system in my car removes intake charge contamination which results in better AFR, less detonation, and cleaner intake tract. This means more power and the engine remains the same. Make the engine work easier to make power rather than make it work harder is what I'm sayin'.

I hear you Bro, pully's and headers are the next project.
