My left front and rear stock AMG rim (2000 E55) have curb rash in a few spots , but only on the lip of the rim . A local dealer here in Boston says they can repair both rims for $200 - I am hesitant to do so becasue I am afraid they will buff down and reshoot the rims. The quality of the repair troubles me. Anyone have any experience reparining these rims or am I better off just buying some used rims that are in great shape?
I had all four rims repaired when I bought the car and had one repaired several months later when my brother-in-law messed it up parking! Just take it to a shop that specialize in repairing damaged rims. The shop that I go to has a lot of business from several of the dealers who farm out the work to the Pro.

I repaired all my 4 stock AMG rims (the previous owner had rash on all 4 wheels) and they looked great now! It cost me about $125 in Hong Kong to repair, as it involves no painting at all. Great deal!

Maybe ask them what they intend to do. Instruct them to only work on the lip, not the face, and definitely do not repaint.
