There has been so much talk about the 2000-2002 AMG E55 horsepower from 349 to 354. Well here are the facts: I have an “AMG. To Make Your Pulse Race” book from MB printed in 01.08.99. This sales brochure was created after the merge of both companies and to sell the new AMG equipped MB cars.

C43 Displacement 4266, 306 HP
E55 Displacement 5439, 354 HP
ML55 Displacement 5439, 347 HP
CLK55 Displacement 5439, 347 HP

No HP specs for A, S, CL, SLK or SL in this ad book of 67 pages.

The E55 had the most HP out of all these AMG cars. I believe the E50 and 1999 E55 was rated at 349 HP.

If you know more I will like this info as well Thanks.

yea, i keep reading 349hp all over the net and stuff, but i actually looked in my manual, and it mentioned 354hp.

but then again, we all know that the 02' seems to have just a lil bit more hp. what the AMG engineers did...we'll never know...

and for those wondering...for actual rwhp:
stockish = ~275rwhp/~320rwtq
with x-pipe mod = ~300rwhp/~333rwtq

then again, totally depends on location...

I will take my stock 01 AMG for Dyno in few wheeks just for the hell of it.

I think the 354hp figure is for euro and the 349hp is for the us? In any case who wants to stay with those boring figures? LOL

I thought the 99 to 01's had 349 with 10.5 compression, then in 02 they raised the hp very slight and raised the compression to 11.0
