Anyone tried this with stock rims?

I'm getting a bit bored with the stock rims, but am no where near ready for new aftermarket ones. Since I have a black car, and I thought someone mentioned this once, can you paint the center cap around the star black?
Has anyone done this?
If so, how do you do it right? Can you just buy some touch-up paint and use a careful hand?
Also I'd like to paint the AMG label in on the wheels.

Just buy a black center cap from Mercedes or off Ebay.

ditto what supercharged said. would look a lot cleaner...

Also, why not paint/powder coat the entire wheel black and leave the lip polished? i think that would look AMAZING on our black cars... i just went ahead and bought new wheels.. i hated the stock wheels and all the brake dust it showed...

Yes like AJ said PC your centers or take to body shop to paint centers black and leave lip CC. Don't use spary paint it will dull and come off in a year or less and look bad. To paint them is about $300 to $400 for the 4. PC is a little more but will last longer over time. Look for deals in your area sometimes there is a good painter or PC guy that will do the for less. It will make you wheels look new and change the center cap as well.

This sounds like the way to go. I assume I can use any color? I'd like a graphite/gunmetal if I were to do the wheels instead of black.

THAT would look sick! i REALLY wanted a gunmetal color... i think it would look badass! but then again, since the wheel has soo much body to it, gunmetal may not look good. black would be a better option since it would match the car.

but yes, you can PC any color you want.

I'm not sure it's all personal preferences, I still like silver wheels, not a big fan of monoblocks because they look old style, make it look clean do not go over top becouse that what Hondas for, good luck.

I did that - had the lips polished and wheels powdercoated. Looks great to me. Will post pics soon
