btw we have it cut before the exhaust pipe clamp so that it's not a one piece welded to the exhaust muffler which is also helpul at the end when we have to adjust & level the exhaust muffler.
hey Joe, looking awesome! Looks like the student has become the master haha jk. Ya great work. ya the X-pipe is slightly wider than the stock pipes but its not a big deal you can just adjust the stock pipes and etc. I actually welded mine into one solid peice that unbolts at the middle of the exhast system (the original stock cat flange there by joining hte entire rear section into one section instead of two sections. Its totally up to you how you want to do it, I just did it out of simplicity sake. I LOVE the way the stainless steel looks, very clean. It also looks liek the 2.5" ends are even better than my maganflow which had 2.25 b/c you did not even have to widen them, the 2.25 pipes have an OD of almost 2.37 so its almost close enough. Again, awesome, im glad i recommended these stainless steel units b/c they are definite much cleaner & smoother components than my Magnaflow one (not to mention cheaper). It may perform even better than mine. honestly theres no way to know but you should feel your maximum gains by the end of the 1st week of driving (about 7 days, also the same time your muffler "burn-off" will go away), takes a bit of time for the ECU to adapt. hope that helps boys... now everyone go get those X-pipes!!

...We could have not done it better without your hard work and research & support to AMG boys master Omey . We got all our parts from the link that you posted and Hai is the one who's ordering it. As for now we're not concerned about the gains but happy about the set-up Omey x-pipe mod! looking forward for the next mod Omey.
Ok, here is the link to the video after the resonator removed and X-Pipe installed. The one I did this afternoon on my cell phone of the before and after sound is ok, I will upload later. This one is done tonight in my garage where it's quiet with a little bit better video recorder.
Hey guys, fantastic job on the X-pipe, you got me jealous on your x-pipe. I'm glad I could help out. It was a lot of work trying to figure out what was true/false about the E55 exhaust system but i finally figured it out. The best is yet to come, just wait too, your exhaust note will get even better over time . again, i'm glad I could make a contribution to the W210 E55 community.
Its hard to tell by the video but it sounds even better in person. As you can tell it have a very deep roar, but it sounds even better under load. I heard mine on the dyno and it sounded absolutely amazing. The best way to describe it is it sounds like thunder, very deep and very powerful without any annoying resonance or other sounds. I couldn't have been happier with the sound (and the guys at the dyno shop couldn't believe how much better it sounded). The car honestly should have come from the factory like this, why you would ever need anything other than the stock E55 AMG cat back is beyond me, and now having figured out this new mod together guys, i doubt anyone ever will again. Any louder and it probably would have been annoying, any softer and it would have been too soft. Also if you have intake (like K&Ns) it will make the exhaust slightly louder with this mod, not much but just enough to notice it. One thing is for sure... best $150 you can spend on your exhaust ... period!!
Do not fear, OmeyHomey has many more mods to come. I have a few up my sleeves right now that I am working on but I am just keeping them under wraps until they are ready to be unveiled . Once I reveal them you guys won't believe it . Now back to work...

Nice work guys. My goal was to go from stck 2.25 to 2.5" to 3" single exhaust new y pipe included based on Supersprints reccomendations as shown in pics and info on their website. I'm still using the stck AMG muffler as recommended by Omey and others.
This past Sat I had my 200 cell SS cats re-installed 2(2.5") to SS magna flow Y pipe ((2)2.5" inlets to 3" single outlet) to 3" SS steel to the stck AMG muffler(inlet is 2.75" on CLK55 and C43) and the car is a MONSTER all around. Custom header and downpipes next. Seems like our 55 engines love 2.5" piping,X pipes and or in my case y pipes to 3" single. Oops I forgot to mention that I added a 3" single Vibrant Resonator.
Car dynoed 309whp on dyno dynamics dyno which puts out similar hp #'s to a mustang dyno. He was as surprised as I was. On a dynojet it will be much higher the tech told me. AFR's started from 14.5 to 12.5 @6k rpm's. I will post dyno sheet later on today!
PS ALWAYS use SS 304 on your MB. Lasts for years and remember it's an MB not just any car as was said to me by my installer. LOL!
Except the C43 and CLK55 have a single entry 2.75"inlet. In this pic he's using a different aftermarket muffler with a dual inlet but his piping is 3" after thw Y-pipe.

yup the CLK and C systems are a Y-configuration, not true dual. if you want even MORE flow i would have suggested the flowmaster Y-pipe, its even more free flowing than the magnaflow (its what I used on my BMW racer), i saw fantastic gains.
As I have mentions our stock exhausts are perfect, they cannot get any more free-flowing (which is great). I just feel bad for anyone who actually paid for an aftermarket catback for zero gains. The real bottlenecks in ours systems are lack of X-pipe (or y), cats, and the headers.
How did you like the cat delete coolcarskiC43? Did they make a noticable impact on performance and sound? I plan on getting a CLK55 in may so I will be doing a similar high flow 3.0" Y-pipe setup on that car soon. anyways thx for the input

If you look at his pictures he used the flowmaster Y-pipe on his cat section, as you can see its super free flowing Y where as the magnaflow y does create some turbulence. either way great job. seems like these are definitely great ways to make some power.
