2.5" stainless X-pipe, cheaper than magnaflow too. its 2.5 instead of 2.25 which is ok, any exhaust shop can adjust the diameter of the tubing slightly. should slide perfect over 2.25" piping. hope that helps. THe best part..... CHEAPER than a magnaflow. I highly recommend this X-pipe, stianless steel too for extra BLING .
What did you use on your beast, the Magnaflow X-Pipe ? along with the 45 degree mandrel bent pipe you got from ebay?
Hopefully you're going to put all that other mods before Christmas?
I used the magnaflow X-pipe but this one on ebay looks even better designed (smoother). Yes I also got 45 degree bends off ebay for real cheap. Its amazing how cheap you can do this X-pipe mod. With this new find, you can now do teh X-pipe for under $150 installed... thats CHEAP!!.
For X-mas Im going to take a break from modding lol. But early next year I will be at it again bringing some amazing new products tot he market. For now I just gonna lay low and get some well needed R&R . ok boys, ttyl
heh, actually getting a G500 for next year, than a SL65 the year after that. I get a new car every year now. But This E55 has been so much fun. Man this car is a WHOLE new beast now with this X-pipe and the cold weather. Its turning into a great daily driver. My next (and most probably last) mod will be my custom Crankshaft pulley. Once thats on there (probably by mid january), I will be done. The max power numbers were only a few higher than last time but this time the "meat" under the curve was much more so it was more about improving the existing power band than gaining max peak HP. I really wish i could see the maximum torque gains but due to this damn auto thats virtually impossible. But the maximum torque gains would be at the maximum torque so 3000rpm it really pulls hard in first gear. honestly the butt dyno feels like alot more than it shows on the dyno for this mod but i guess thats true for most mods . either way im real happy. I still need to get my A/F ratios down but I have no clue how do to that. Im thinking i may need a new MAF and the reason my car is running lean is b/c it still has the original MAF on the car.
I think you definitely need a new MAF because your A/F ratio is way too lean and it shows in your whp and wTQ #'s. Be careful not to hurt the motor until u chg the MAf. Then you will feel even more power.
yes i know its bad hehe. trying to figure out where i can get one for under and arm & a leg
I figured you would make more power being lean, the downside is reliability and it puts the motor on the edge of killing itself. Usually I see more power being made the leaner you go, until it blows up.

thats a common myth but not necessarily true, especially on modern ECUs. heres why. As you run leaner you have a higher tendancy to ping or knock per given octane. As your ECU detects knock or ping it will pull timing in order to compensate, and as it pulls timing you will in result lose power. Our ECUs main priority is not power believe it or not, its engine reliability. The ECU will pull as much timing and possible in order to protect the engines longevity. The reason my power #s are a bit low (other then the fact they are on mustang dyno) is also b/c my ECU is seriously pulling rediculous timing b/c of my A/Fs. Once you start getting above 14.0 the ECU starts pulling timing, above 15.0 it will pretty much pull max timing b/c its runnign way too lean. 12.1-13.1 for a high compression NA performance engine is where u want to be. For FI the sweet spot is around 11.1 is where u want to be for maximum power / safety

agree with you Omey! my AFR is 13.1 last time we dyne my car. btw, we got our SS 45deg mandrel bend pipe & Hai ordered our SS X-pipe hopefully it will arrive this wk thanks for the link & info Omey!
also since this is the "official-x-pipe-exhaust-thread" i just want to add the previous thread link related to this topic by: omeyhomey, 1 BAD BURB, jofo
