Extended Warranty! Good or Bad!

I have a 99 E-55, 76K Miles in good condition.....I am looking at the only Warranty I can get, its a 5 year, 100,000 Additional Miles...No Deduct....But only covers Engine, water pump, and Transmission, at any place I want!.....$195 Down, 12 Payments of $130 a month........

I know the AMG is a great car, but I had a 98 E-320 with only 98,000 Miles when the Transmission flat went away!!!!! Cost almost $5K to fix it....So in the back of mind, I am always thinking what if the AMG Motor went South....That would be spendy!!!!!!!!

What do you guys think!!!!! "Deal or No Deal"

Thanks

Steve

That sounds like a steal, but you need to do your homework about the company to see how financially strong they are. Nothing worse than having a warranty with a defunct company.

I say it's a deal. I have a 2000 E55 with only 46K miles on it. At 45K miles the transmission went. Fortunately when I bought it with 12K miles I bought all the warranty I could and the transmission went this summer MB paid for it, and StarMark runs out in Feb 07. So buy the warranty I'd say.

so for $1755, you get the major components covered??? Dude, jump on that!!!

and if you could, could u pm me the details on this, i would also like to buy this warranty! Assuming of course the compnay is legit and all... please keep me up to date on this!

and BTW...i've done a good amount of hmwk to find out these cars are pretty rock solid. my mechanic went over my car pretty well and said its all solid. He has worked on porsches/audi, all Euro imports quite exccessively, so i trust his judgement. Then again, i have heard of horror stories... but those usually end up with owners who abuse the sh!t out of their cars...

I am looking into it for my 2002 W210 4Matic and Warranty Direct has been calling me left and right to sign up with them. They are around $1600 for a 5 year / 100k mile coverage. My car only has 27k miles on it.

Can anyone share any feedback on Warranty Direct?

Thanks much.

Paul
