Greetings, all.
Just picked up an 02 E55. Black on black. Absolutely love it, and I cannot believe what an amazing car this is. Ony 30K miles -- interior still smells like new leather!
Anyway, I'll try and get some pics up, but I had a few questions that search was no help with.
1) Has anyone installed a Bluetooth headunit replacement? I really want this functionality and don't have Command or the phone. These new units (Sony and Pioneer make them I know), look plug and play (with the unfortunate loss of steering wheel buttons), but is it that simple with the MB's electronics behind the dash? I really want the in-car speaker use (mic is built in to the unit), and Bleutooth phone functionality is priority number one for me.
2) Can the car be set to have the courtesy lights come on while unlocking the car with the fob? My C320 does this -- turns on "puddle" lights. It really helps at night. So far though I can only get this activated upon locking the car after getting out, not unlocking while approaching.
3) I have the pneumatic seats, and I can't figure out how/when they inflate and deflate. If I change a setting while driving, does that setting only take place with the car off and the key in the #2 ignitition slot?
That is it for now. Can't wait for others here to report back on the resonator delete. That is in the works for me in the coming months, I think. Car still has plenty of factory warranty, so that will be it for mods for a while.
welcome to the club bud!!! you will really enjoy this car. i have had mine for 3 weeks, still a grin from ear to ear when i drive her!!! absolutly love it. same combo as yours as well...
i can't help ya on questions 1 & 2 u asked, but on 3, i can adjust mine whenever, car on or off, or driving... might want to use that warranty of yours to get that checked out. did you read the manual? anything in there? good luck!

So is the C5 Corvette
Pm for details... thanks!
2. Ask your MB dealer to get the "Netherland Settings" for all other set-up for W210.
3. Key fob has to be on ignition position 2 for it to inflate - it's in your owners manual.
Take care & enjjoy the ride,
Joseph
Thanks for the help.
I'm really looking for a new headunit b/c I want sat. radio as well. Hoping the dealer would be willing to install one with built in Bluetooth, but that may be asking too much. We will see. Perhaps they can add the "Netherlands" setting while they are it -- when I had that programmed on my last car, I had to bring in instructions from MBWorld forums because my service guy had no idea what I was talking about.
That is a relief about the seats. Thought I had an electrical gremlin!
