Well, after an exhausting 4 hours climbing in and out from underneath my car, my Magnaflow X pipe is officially TIG welded onto the exhaust. Thanks to my buddies at their race shop I chose in NJ to make it happen. So far everything comes out perfect, and because I have a pair of Supersprint mufflers on the car, it's not loud at all. You can hear the V8 rumble when going on ramps or getting out of toll booths, however, it's absolutely stock like quiet when traveling at a constant speed. I think all I want to do the car is done for now, until Kleemann releases its headers for my car in about 4 months.
Hey guys, finally fixed some issues, car is running really great now. Looks like I will try and get a baseline dyno one of these days and then slap on the X-pipe and see if there are gains. After that will be pulley and then im pretty much done with the car. After seeing Joes Ford GT-TT I realized I will only be happy with supercar power so im gonna try and plan to get SL65 lol. anyways i will keep yall updated.
hey guys, the car is finally running good, gonna try and get a dyno done friday towards the end of the day when it cools down. hopefully i put down some good "baseline" numbers ( car does have K&N)
oh really interesting, is that true for CLK55 as well? I have a Y-pipe by the way that is brand new, you can have it for dirt cheap if you want. lemme know
What are the dimensions on the Y pipe? As long as it's 2.5 at each end of the Y and 3 inches leaving I'd perhaps be interested. Yes the CLK's downpipes y into the resonater and leave it with a huge single pipe into the AMG muffler. The W209 CLK55 is a tad different and only uses 2 huge catalytic conveters and no resonator stck(2005-2006). 2003to early 2005 W209 CLK55's I believe has 4 cats and reso.
The y pipe I want to use has 2.5" inlets and a 3" outlet.Part of my exh is a custom 3" setup. I'll show you some pics which are in this thread link of PTE's CLK55 setup. This is somewhat how I'd like to duplicate my exhaust:
