Interior LED bulb conversion complete ! :)

hey guys,

I did this mod a long time ago originally on my W140 and bmw M3 but since then lots have followed suit. its a great mod to really help lower the electrical drain on the battery as well as improve light quality at night time.

these bulbs are the 9LED 39mm bulbs. but I may replace all 3 with the the new high powered dual flux LED's (even brighter and more vibrant). If i do I will relocate these to the door flood lights, vanity mirrors and etc). The lights still do fade to about 60% then go black but they do not do a full fade b/c of the nature of LEDs. anyways here are a few sets of the pics.

Edit: Notice how hot the bulb gets ,it actually was starting to burn the plastic and turn it brown, shows you just how hot these badboys can get. LED is definitely a great idea.

parking light LED conversion...

hey guys, honestly i was kinda disappointed b/c the light is just too dark and too purple, I am just going to go with BA9S blue "xenon" bulbs instead of the LED ones, they emit light in all directions and look bluer instead of purpleish. if anyone wants mine though I'll sell them for dirt cheap. I got two sets, $7 shipped gets the each sets.

Looks great. I did this with my Syclone - changed virtually every bulb on the truck to super white LED or filament bulbs. Those festoon dome lamp bulbs do get hot as hell. Can you post how many of each type of bulb we need to order to do all of the interior lights on our E55s?

sure thing.

you will need 3 (two front, one rear dome lights) of the 44mm Superstar Dual high flux LED bulbs (u can use the 39mm but honestly its not as good of a fit and not as bright). the door flood light bulbs area perfect fit for 39mm 9LED bulbs (so 4 of those). The map reading lights are 194 bulb 5LED style bulbs, there are 3 of those (1 up front, two in rear). that should cover the whole interior.
