Hey Guys Leini is right, did any of you guys try it on your car to see if it work yet? I recorded the codes with the engine off and in idle. If we get enough people to record their and also while they are driving, we probably can figure some of these number out.

Code # - Code Function - Eng. off - Eng. Idle
1 73 73
2 62 62
3 78 78
4 78 78
5 76 76
6 71 120
7 05 05
8 67 67
9 27 27
10 0.0 0.0
11 2.4 2.6
12 4.3 4.3
20 3.2 3.2
21 32 44
22 Real speed w/o offset 00 00
23 32 211
24 Battery voltage 11.6 13.5
40 164 164
41 91 91
42 08 08
43 136 136

Have you guys look at the codes for your car to see if it's the same as mine? I will have to drive around and look at the differenct codes to see what is changing.

It seems you can also clear codes as well. I found this on another forum...

I have issues with my '99 E320's a/c and after reading Steve Brotherton's very good article I retrieved the error codes:

B1231-ECT sensor
B1234-Sun sensor
B1459-Series interface connection to instrument cluster

I have just had the transmission changed and a major service done and the a/c stopped after that. May just be fluke but i'm not sure. I have heard that I may be able to just reset the error codes and all may be well and was wondering how to do this?
I have made a search on this board but can only find reset info for the older style of control panel.
Thanks for any help.

While in the DTC (Diagnositc Trouble Code) read out mode, cycle through all errors, then simultaniously press both Auto buttons > 2 seconds. The display should change. Pressing auto again will cancel the erase. Turn off ignition to end test. They should be gone. Let us know if this works, I got this from WIS.

Yep it worked as you said and codes are now cleared.
Unfortunatly the a/c still blows hot so I am looking at the diagnostic values and will try and work out from them what is most likely the problem.
My local dealer wants to put leak detector in the system but I don't have any codes telling me this is a problem so am not sure if this is a waste of time and money."

Great detective work! You get the beer, cheers!!! That other site has a lot of good info. We should clean this data up and add it to the MOD and information sticky for E55. I will work on it.
