driver & passenger seats...

are these "handed" in the E55? At 83k my driver-side is startling to look a bit glossy, whereas the passenger-side has hardly been sat in. I can't see any controls on the seat itself - they are all up on the door card.

Can I swap the two seats over to even up the wear?

RE: driver & passenger seats...

I know what you mean but I had a lady that takes care of all the local dealerships to come a repair me leather. She redid my steering wheel, seats and one door panel. It still looks perfect even after 5 months. Find someone than knows how to fix dye and match leather.
I'm would say no one the seat swapping thing. I think the rail are different.

RE: driver & passenger seats...

On a W210 the seat portion of the seats are identical for both driver and passenger. The only problem is that the passenger seat has an airbag switch located deep in the seat portion and a connector under the seat. I tried to swap mine and gave up once I had disassembled each chair to discover this. The part numbers for both seat portions/rails are the same.

If you can live without an airbag switch then you CAN swap but I am actually unsure what would happen if you left the airbag switch unconnected. IE does the airbag light come on and stay on?
