Hi, I own a 2000 E55, with about 45,000 miles on it 90% highway. I drive the car hard in the summer, but I started to drive it quite "slowly" because I put new rubber for the winter and I am saving the tread. My acceleration has not exceeded past 2500rpm for a few months. What I have noticed is that today for the first time in a few months I switched back to driving it the way its meant to be driven, it shifts with a longer delay than normal (when doing 60mph and floor it rapidly but not push the kickdown, its longer time lapse befor the downshift). Even after a number of accelerations it just seems to shift rough. Anyone else have this problem? I understand the adaptive driving trans but after a couple of hard acceleartions it should understand that the car wants to go.
The car has had the MAF replaced, sprark plugs, air filters...
make sure the s/w swith is on s not w - try that - (i know this may be captain obvious but hey, i am a pretty smart cookie but sometimes i overlook the obvious)
I had a smilar issue but the opposite. Once I installed my supercharger I noticed that the tranny shifts much quicker and harder. Some how the tranny ECU has adjusted for the extra torque. These tranny's are very smart and strong but they still need their oil changed every 40k. My firt tranny blew up at 65k and that was before the supercharger. I'm sure with time and a few more key starts it will start shifting quicker.
Let us know what happens
Mario

Thanks for the input, the switch is in S. Here is a more specific issue, slow down to a stop to make a right hand turn, upon finishing the turn, accelerating moderately the rpm climbs slowly hesitantly up to 3500, and then suddenly speeds up until you let off. Could this be a trans issue or the adaptive trans?
