E55 or CLK55???

If you could have a 2001 E55 AMG or a 2001 CLK55 AMG with the same miles, in the same condition for the same price, which would you choose and why?

That's the decision I'm trying to make, and here's your chance to get your two cents in.

Thanks in advance for your opinion.

RE: E55 or CLK55???

The CLK55 if you want a 2 door for a more sporty look. Test drive both and see how you like the handling. I think the E-Class is a tougher car than the CLK.

RE: E55 or CLK55???

There is no bias in E-Klasse suggesting an E class is there? If it helps your decision I've always dreamed of getting a CLK55. I've always had a thing for mercedes coupes.

RE: E55 or CLK55???

I drove both before opting for a '99 E55. The E55 is simply more spacious. If you have kids it is a big plus over the CLK. My kids (all younger than 9) were even complaining about the lack of room in the back of the CLK. Plus, the E55 is better to transport adults to dinner or friends for golf. Just a thought.

RE: E55 or CLK55???

The CLK's are based on the C-Class mercs so yeah they are a bit smaller than a E-Class. But both are amazing machines.

For the same money I'd rather go for an E regardless of engine size and options.

RE: E55 or CLK55???

If you already have a sedan, go for the CLK, otherwise get the E55.

Compromise, and get a new C55 best of both worlds ;)

My opinion might be a tad biased though
