I have an old 84 300D with an incredible amount of miles on it. I am looking for info on how good the 99 turbo diesel is and how reliable it is. I see scary articles on the web about different problems. I would appreciate comments and refences to articles and reviews on this car. I am also am considering an early 90's turbo diesel but probably would prefer a 99. Are these newer Mercedes worth the price or has their quality deteriorated.
This is the AMG section, the normal 210 section is slightly lower down (for future refference).
Anyways, to answer your question(s), the 1999 210 TD's are tremendous cars, a friend bought one a few days back and I love it to bits. Its fas economical and so far very reliable.
W124 & W123 are made of solid materials, so is the W210,.... its just not joined together as well as the older E's. (Then again I have 2 W210's so something should be right with them).
A new(er) car is a new(er) car,...you'll love the W210.
Try the non AMG forum section for the W210's and maybe someone there will be able to give you better advice.
