The article on the 4 crash prone cars was good, and I have to agree that the driver is mostly at fault. Lots of the stuff they were saying is pretty obvious, like young drivers with popular cars isn't always your best bet.
the funny part is i race twice a week at the track here in my home town. Ever night there is anoter 50 year old man in a z06 talking about how fast it is, or a 16 year old in the vette him mom and bad bought him. They run pass after pass and most cant get in the mid 13's. Every benz i have had is dead on the money for what the articles say. Maybe its driver maybe it the car.
Also i find it hard to beleave that you heard the rumble inside your car from a benz with a suv infront of you.
Hey guys, now matter what brand you drive there is always some knuckle dragger bad mouthing this and that. A car is only as fast as it's driver.I've meet just as many loud mouths who drive Fords, Chevys, BMWs, Mercedes and so on. By some of the comments here if you take a step back and look, you are almost as bad as the other guys. Me personaly I usualy just nod my head polightly and move on. There is always some one who is bigger and fast. Example my friends Cobra who I work with is fully street legal passes emissions with all factory options and creacture comforts can pull .9g's on a skid pad and runs 0-135 mph in 10.1 seconds. Now I'm not tring to say one is better that the other, to each his own.
I personaly work as a professional Mercedes service tech and they don't pay me to just shine my tools all day. I've worked for other manufactures before as well and the bottom line is that all cars are peices of insert bad word. The only difference is that my peice of ---- is just that mine. As far as some of the compassisons look at the cost and design target. No a vett does not compare to a E55,nor does a E55 compare to a Porsche. Mercedes, Ford, Porsche and many other build formula one cars and it does'nt get any faster than that. So the point is just ignore to loud mouths and enjoy your one ride and don't bag on others because as soon as you do someone will be there that can best you.

And the list goes on and on and on and on.......
Currently motor is out of car due to factory pistons not likeing 600hp and 15lbs of boost. Being rebuilt with the target of 730hp this time with better parts.
Generally I agree with you, '97 Cobra, but F1 is really not the fastest stuff out there. They fall apart after 100kms of running, so I would rather have a Zonda with a reliable Benz engine, that won't be liable to explode.

It has been pretty well documented that the corvette is the deadliest automobile of all time. Here is but one example of such documentation. http://moneycentral.msn.com/articles...asics/8135.asp
Corvettes don't drive themselves. According to the linked article--those Corvettes were driven by young males with little to no high-performance driving experience. The new C6 Z06 scares me, and I have 8 years of BMW CCA/PCA DE experience, and 3 years instructing for both. I'm shocked that car makers offer 505 hp cars so easily. All you need is $60K to $80K. No drivers ed experience necessary. It's no wonder the death toll is so high for cheap Amercian muscle cars. [:0]
