I just bought my first Mercedes. I wouldn't have been able to afford the car, even though it is used, but I bought it at an auction.
The car seems to be great, I looked underneath, and for the amount of miles it has it looked suprisingly good.
The only issue I have found is that the rear drivers side window won't move up or down. A mercedes dealer mechanic said it was the window regulator. They wanted a ton of money to fix it, should I have a professional do it(which I can't afford), or is this something I might be able to do myself.

RE: Window Regulator Failure
You can do it yourself. The part is $200 or so from the dealer. The original part is rivited on so you just have to drill them out. You have to take the inner door panel off and remove the plastic vapor barrier. The regulator uses a poor cable and pully assembly that can bind up or break and drop the window down to the bottom.

About 87.00 each. Simple job. Remove door panel screws, dont forget to remove the one behind the plastic piece behind the inside door handle. Drill out rivets and replace. Make sure you hold your window up with something or it can be a pain to get it back in the track. Don't buy the factory rivets unless you have a really heavy duty gun.
