This pays homage to the original announcement started by the moderators in the W163 M-Class forum.
~~ New Members ~~
Welcome to the W210 E-Class forum. Here is a video you should watch and a few tips for you to keep in mind:
Fill Out Your Profile (User CP link)
Start by adding your model number and year such as "1997 E320." Do not forget your location. Both can help sometimes with technical support (different engine and transmission, etc), recommending sources for parts, or even knowing the options that came on your car.
Use The Search Feature
Most of the common questions members ask have already been answered many times over. The few minutes it takes you to search will save other members much more time researching the answers for you. (And to find your answer, they will probably do a search!) This point cannot be stressed enough.
Get Familiar With The DIY Stickies
Most of the common issues have DIY procedures that are of great details and often with pictures (sometimes even with videos). These DIYs are listed on the very top of the W210 forum homepage. Even though you may currently have no problems addressed by some of the DIYs, it is very helpful for you to be familiar with what is in there for the future.
Read Your Owner's Manual
Many commonly asked questions and maintenance items are answered in the owner's manual that came with your car. If you do not have a manual, it is recommended you purchase one. If your car is model year 2000 or later, the sticky has a link so you to download a PDF version of the manual.
Post Pictures And Details
This can be especially helpful for diagnosing problems or identifying parts and is much easier than to write out things. Also try to give as much details of the problem and what you have already done. However, please do not tell what a delicious dinner you just ate or you may not get an answer because other members would all be drooling.
Know Your (Trouble) Codes
Many problems can be diagnosed by obtaining the codes given by your car's control modules. Use an OBD II scanner to read the codes and then do a search. Also do a search in the trouble code thread in the sticky.
Keep It Civil and Clean
Discussion and debate is one thing, but explicit posts are violation of the term of use (TOU) of this forum and may be dealt with by forum moderators. This is, after all, a Mercedes forum and only gentleman deserves to drive a Mercedes.
