bulb for factory fog lights.......H1 or H3???

I have a 99 E320 Wagon. Does anyone know what bulb fits into that foglight? I couldn't find it listed anywhere in the manual. I have seen some people say it is a H1, but others say it is an H3.

A funny thing I noticed about the manual....it states that my rear turn signal bulbs are py21W. wrong, they are 1156!!!

Hi,

I have a blown left fog light bulb and I too couldn't find how to replace it in the manual. Could you send me some details on how to change the bulb? I'd very much appreciate it.

My manuals (both E430 and CLK55 state fogs as H1. They're both H3s. If you're going for HID color, PIAA extreme whites, PIA15286 (Autobarn.com) but if you really want to see in fog, use PIA13555 (Ion crystal)
