i have 18-8 w/35 offset amg replica rims rims which i have not put on my 99 e320 yet...tire rack suggests using 235/40/18 from what i understand...but i have a set of 245/45/18 just sitting in my garage....can i put these on my car without rubbing of any other problems.
if not what is the biggest size i can go w/out rubbing to fill in the wheel wells. thanks for any help

It depends if you benz is lowered or not. 245/45's are a big and bulky for 8" rims but they will most definately fit and shouldn't rub if your car's suspension is stock. They would just look too wide. My 19's are 8.5" wide and I have 235/35's on them. I would recommend 225/40/18 for the best look and handling. That is the size I had on the 18X8 Schnitzers on my M3 and loved them. Tire rack always suggests the next larger size but every shop that I have ever dealt with always uses 225's on 8" rims and 235's 8.5" rims. Sell the set of tires that you have a buy a new set. I always suggest ebay for buying and selling. You can probably get some good money for your tires. Good luck...
