Potential 1997 E-320 problems ??

Hey Gents!
I am going to look at a 1997 E-320 with 84K miles on it tommorow.
Are there any particular problems with this model and year that I should be on the hunt for?
Owner says it is sport edition and he was a little vague as to what that really meant. I think special seats and maybe suspension. Is that suspension going to negate Mercedes smooth ride?
The price is reasonable and I am told the 5 speed auto tranny is worth going to the 1997.
I wonder about longevity of new V-6 ?

thanks for your opinions.

no such thing as a 97 e320 sport (only E420 had sport). i would not trust this person just b/c that representation.
97 was 1st year for new transmission, early year model had problems. also the new v6 is not as smooth but more torque happy, either is fine.
car should be checked for front control arm bushings and seat frames.
i think i would go for late model year 97 or a 98 e320 with more of the bugs worked out.
