The estimate is in at $10k to fix my wifes E300 which did the 360 on the 110fwy posted about last week. I was told that I would be responsible for part of the cost of replacing the tire which was popped and it got me thinking about switching the wheels and tires altogether. I found a guy with 2003 C class stock wheels/tires which are basically new that he is willing to sell for $500. Also, there is a guy in San Diego who has a set of S class 16" wheels/tires for $400 in near new condition. I wouldn't want to replace just the one as the other front tire is about 60% worn. So, I was taking into consideration the fact that it will likely cost $200 to replace both fronts and I'll still have wheels that are pitted and a bit crusty from the 3 winters this car spent back east in the salt and snow. What do you think?
