The activated charcoal button, when activated, filters the air of allergens and can even greatly reduce odors.

better than cabi air filter but it has limited life

ACtivated charocoal filter is sort of a 'ionic' magnet of small to microscopic particles, incuding gases. Regular filter is mechanical filter, basically blocking partciles larger than a certain micron size. Activated carbon has an electric charge to it and can capture very very very small molecules of things like oops 'FART Gas'.

however you should not run this cntinuously as it has limited life (similar to those pur and brita water filters). I typically use it when going through a stinky area or stuck in dead stop traffic and always use Recirculate button when using activated carbon filter.
