tire problem with E430 sport

I have a 2001 E430 sport package with 20,000 miles and now one tire in the front is completely thread-bare while the other three are same wear. Dealers tells me it the tire, but the tires have been rotated and only now did the tire wear out. Anybody with the same problem?

Quite possible that that tire has a bad belt that is not running true, but, I would also have the alignment checked by your dealer

First things first, check the alignment. I'll bet it's the front passenger side

that's causing the problem. Have them print out the alignment results for you, then make your own conclusion. If alignment has been done, then the tire is the problem.

The alignment had been checked many times. But what is intriguing is that the middle of the tire is bare and not the sides. Also its only one tire after rotations had been done.

It appears that you tire is OVERINFLATED. Check the pressure of all four tires - I'm sure you'll be able to figure out the problem. If all 4 tires read at or near the same PSI - then you've a bad tire...
