Has anyone installed metalized window on the rear window where the antennae<br>
Is in the rear window. Many tinting shops I have spoken to say metalized film on the rear window of a Mercedes will can poor AM radio reception. Any comments? <br>
Do you actually listen to AM?<br> <br> If not then dont worry about it. I am having my 2000 E430 tinted on wed. with Sungard that has the metal in it. It is never supposed to fade. We will see.

Recently tinted my E430 with 35% 3M. Tinter does work on SF Giants and 49ers MB's. He says that he removes interior weather strip to avoid long term scratching. It's been two weeks and I haven't noticed excessive wind/road noise.

I had them take the windows out, which allows them to get a very clean edge all ...

I had them take the windows out, which allows them to get a very clean edge all the way around the glass (hard to tell that it is not factory glass). Other option is to find someone with a computer cut system which can achieve the same results with the windows in place.
that is exactly what will happen. I just tinted my 2000 e-320 and used metalized tint. The installer did not warn me i'd lose so much am reception, probably did not know himself?

Second that, I have metallized tint on my e430, AM is
really bad and FM is degraded too, but not as
much.
