Brake Pads/Rotors

I have 34K miles on my 99 E class and am now for the first time replacing the brake pads. The dealer told me that the front rotors are barely above the minimum thickness and should be replaced soon as well. They claim the rotors are a wear item etc. What do you guys think about that? Has anyone else replaced these? Is this normal wear? Should I replace the rotors and pads now or wait till the rotors are below the minimum level before replacing the rotors?

Re: Brake Pads/Rotors

From what I have been told, rotors usually last thru 2 sets of pads.

Re: Brake Pads/Rotors

Thanks for the advice sosh. Well its the day after, I got my car back yesterday, told them to leave the rotors on, and put the new pads on. I hope you're right and they will last thru 2 sets of pads. <br> Has anyone tried the porterfield pads on their e-class? How did you like them, do they squeal, how much dust, etc?
