Illumination or not that's the question ???

As we all know, there is three ventilationsystems on the dashboard. Every of them there is rollable knob, where is a white dot. Should this dot be illuminated or not ? If Yes, mine aren't anyway, so how to take these systems away to change bulbs ? Size of the bulbs ? Friends, help me and happy Mercedes-year 2001 !

They should be illuminated!!

: As we all know, there is three ventilationsystems on the dashboard. Every of them there is rollable knob, where is a white dot. Should this dot be illuminated or not ? If Yes, mine aren't anyway, so how to take these systems away to change bulbs ? Size of the bulbs ? Friends, help me and happy Mercedes-year 2001 !
BULBS: 12v2W (the bulb is to stick into the fitting/holder)
MIDDLE: remove the radio (& digital display of climate control), than unscrew the 2 screws with which the wood trim/panel is tightened just above the radio & then pull the wood trim/panels bottom towards you & unhook the top of the panel. Unscrew the 2 screws in the ventilation system bottom & use 2 pins to release the 2 hooks whilst pulling the ventilation system. The hooks in top of the system can be seen at any time easily.
RIGHT: take off the lid on the right side of the dash, unscrew the screw of the dash-speaker top & take off this top by gently pulling it up and to the right side gently. Then pull the wood trim gently towards yourself (the right part of the wood trim can be pulled away from the dash & above the console the wood trim has to be shoved to the right side for 2 fastenings). Behind this wood trim are 2 screws in the top of the ventilation system & the bottom part is hooked in on the same way as the middle ventilation system.
LEFT: The middle & right systems are easier than the left one since this ventilation system shares its bulb with the light switch!
Normally I take out the upholstery underneath the dash & take out the light switch to change the bulb inside...
Remove the screws in the upholstery underneath the dash & pull out the panel by pulling the horizontal part towards the seat & shoving up the vertical part to unhook the upholstery there.
Remove the lid on the left side of the dash & remove the screw for the light-switch. After that remove the screws & bolts of the parkingbrake-releas & push back the light switch. At the innerside of the dash you can take the switch & pull it down to make it possible to change the bulb. I don't know exactly whether the ventilation system has to be removed to make some room for shoving back the light-switch, but that is done the same way as the right ventilation system.
The wood trim can be pulled of the dash easily.
SUC6
