I am getting ready to replace rear shocks on my e420. I found a great tutorial on here that a member had posted. I tried finding the part # he posted for the Bilsteins he installed. But no luck. What would you guys recommend as far as brand and where to get the best price? Thanks. Joe

Bilsteins or Sachs Boge are your best options or the genuine Mercedes rebranded shocks. Here's some links that should help you. I'm not sure which model of each brand you should choose but I'm sure someone else can tell you the difference between the various Bilsteins you can buy and how they compare to Sachs Boge or any other manufacturer.

Quick question... Why are you replacing them? This is one of those things I ask all the time. Some things on this Car seem to last forever.. I am coming up on 195K on the OEM Shocks.. Car seems to ride and handle like a dream but I am used to it, you know , frog in a pot.

I'm hoping to stop my wheels from going thru the top of the fenders when navigating the abused streets of Chattanooga. Just for shoots and giggle I called firestone retail store and they gave me a $1100 quote. Haha. Nooooo thx. Doin it myself
