Wife's 98 E300D, 202kmi.
the turn signal is stuck blinking on left turn. Stalk is not loose and all other functions work properly: lights wipers/pump and when right turn signal is applied, left stops blinking but returns when right signal is released and stalk goes to neutral position. :eek
So, do I have to disassemble the wheel and replace something, or just remove and lube a stuck point.
any info is appreciated. already researching the wheel removal info.
thanks !
hello Do your left turn signals blink ALL the time when the ignition is on and / or the the car started, EXCEPT when you put the stalk to indicate a right turn ?
first sentence, Yes
I am going to ck the hazard light tomorrow when I get home.
Per research, probably the switch itself. Beck-Arnley on the way.
Thanks for the quick reply. Will post my findings.
Yes it is most likely the switch. If you order from Advance auto parts you get $30 off with coupon code RAF51112 . So B & A will cost you $71.48 delivered.
The A. Auto prices are typically high, but with discount coupons you can search and apply, they become competitive, and even lower than others.
If you are going to replace the stalk yourself, one advice:
Disconnect the battery first, and re-connect last (after all is installed back). Never try to "test" if the turn signal switch works (connecting the battery and turning the ignition key) , WITH the airbag disconnected. You will get an SRS warning that will require a visit to a workshop to reset the SRS code, and pay $.
Correct you are sir, yes.
Already noted. Been busy at the hospital; try to get this done today when I get up.
Switch was 59$ shipped via Amazon. Got almost next day. Beck -Arnley. Still made in Taiwan though.
Been following Pierre Hedary on you tube. I met him last week briefly at his shop in Titusville. My parents live 5min from his shop.
