Well this makes me look stupid. I did a search here and on YouTube. I am in a pinch
I jacked car up and I am trying to remove the drivers rear wheel on my 1997 e420 It has the 5 star almost monoblock looking wheels. I removed the lugs no sweat but it will not budge! What am I missing? Thx
another technique is to loosen (but not remove) the lug bolts. jack up car and
thump /kick the sidewalls with deadblow, 4x4, head butt.
next (still loosened bolts) drive the car 45º against the curb in hopes of dislodging
the hub from the hub ring. I'm sure that the hub ring has rusted against
the hub...that's all.
Another way is to have the car raised, loosen the bolts about a half inch, spray wd40 or similar on the hub area, wait 5 mins,,then slowly lower the car in small increments, and as the weight increases on the wheel you (hopefully) find it will let go.
The head butt trick worked thx! I did all four corners. I did new sway bar links all around. Needless to say I am about dead. Me toenail hair is even sore. Whew
