Replacing the left rear window regulator on 99 E320 tomorrow. When taking the door panel off and examining the damage, I found an extra white plastic piece in the door that doesn't appear to be part of the regulator. I can't find a diagram that shows anything similar but was wondering if any of you guys know if there is any other plastic part inside the door that this might be? Part of the guide? Thanks in advance for any help.
Yeah I've been through the stickies extensively as well as looked for parts diagrams online. About to start the project so I should know in about an hour. If it doesn't appear to be part of the regulator I'll post a pic. Thannks
i'm intrigued. I don't recall many other white plastic in the area unless it was
separate from the regulator and more from the latch, liner or lock assemblies.
a photo or drawing is always recommended and the part highlighted showing
shape/size/location if possible
The window rail sliders are almost identical to lifting-upper slider.
That is how Greg started the thread with my handle in title.
It all come to GREEN THING afterall.
To clear confusion - green thing is lower slider with white -upper slider attached.
Well I'm all done and it was part of the slider. Sorry to cause alarm and confusion. It was on the backside and I couldn't see it until I got it out. I went back with machine screws and lock nuts as I'm not very adept with rivets. Just have to put the door card back on. I plan to save the old regulator and order the plastic slider part and repair with YachtMasters method at my convenience. Thanks as always guys.
Sorry for no pictures. I'm working on that.
